Dedicated Mental Health Therapist in Las Vegas

Committed to Quality Integrative Therapy

Hi! I’m Laura Salado

Even as a therapist, I too have faced the significant challenges of navigating the mental health system here in Las Vegas.

Witnessing its challenges firsthand compelled me to establish a private practice that not only offers evidence-based clinical care but also serves as a haven where folks, if they wish, can share their joys and pains, and above all, feel understood.

While I didn't initially set out to become a therapist, in retrospect, I can identify the foundational experiences that led me to this profession. One particular experience, the loss of my mother at the age of nine, significantly reinforced the empathy and clinical rigor that guide my work to this day.

Although my loved ones provided support to the best of their ability, it was the exceptional clinical care I received that truly made a difference and emphasized the importance of having a solid therapist. This exceptional care now shapes my practice.

The universality of love and hardship touches everyone, and my own experiences provided first hand insight into how life’s most meaningful events not only impact our mental health but also influence the way we love others and view ourselves.

Dedicated to providing the highest standard of care—a commitment that has driven my career for over a decade—I am inspired daily to offer my clients the same level of dignity and respect I received, ensuring that my practice exceeds the standards of care.

Through my work, I am grateful to help people from all walks of life embrace change, nurture the resilience of the human spirit, and discover new meaning in themselves and their relationships.

My Commitment to Holistic and Integrative Care

Have you or a family member ever felt judged or misunderstood in a medical or therapeutic setting regarding your health or mental health symptoms?

While the DSM helps clinicians categorize your symptoms into diagnoses, it doesn't fully capture your entire experience or suggest the most effective treatment methods. You're more than just a diagnosis.

As an advocate for holistic mental and relational health, I understand the crucial interplay between biological, psychological, and social factors.

Effective therapy acknowledges this interconnectedness, enabling us to develop treatment plans that are as multifaceted and unique as you are.

Throughout my Medical Family Therapist internship in graduate school, I worked closely with doctors and psychiatrists during their rounds to implement therapy tailored to address a patient’s medical, psychological, and relational needs.

Via research, I delved into this interconnectedness by studying how physical and emotional trauma impacts genetics and both physical and mental health.

And outside of the therapy room, I actively contribute to the UNLV DEI CFT committee, collaborating with students and faculty on ways to improve and diversify therapy.

  • As part of Dr. Hyunhwa Lee’s Brain Injury Translational Research (BITR) team I engaged in multidisciplinary research spanning medicine, psychology, health science, life science, and computer science. I explored the effects of physical and emotional trauma on physical health, investigating topics such as traumatic brain injury (TBI), global functioning, and the impact of abuse on the human genome through global DNA methylation assays.
